I'm sure some folks will disagree, but Waterloo Exxon is my go to.

My go to had been Philly's Best in Elkridge on 103 about a mile west from RT 1. They over stuff the sandwich :-)

Was craving one earlier today as well. Went over to Friscos/Reckless Shepard to try theirs. Best I’ve found in HoCo.

Friscos has cheesesteaks? Wait Friscos is open? I thought they closed down

I’m not sure of all the history, but they moved around the corner (closer to Wegmans) recently and rebranded to Reckless Shepard Brewpub and Friscos Restaurant.

I’m always curious, how do these strip mall pizza places make good food from like 4 ethnicities all in one kitchen? Is a bunch of it pre packaged from some big supplier?

Thanks for all the suggestions! I’ve been craving a cheesesteak, but people have just been telling me places to avoid lol

If you're called Jersey Mike's, you'd better have a good cheesesteak!

I think they do.

Grottos pizza has the closest to a good roll. So many places use soft hoagie rolls around here. They also use provolone, which is my preference over whiz.

Like cheese whiz? Omg!!!!!!! What?!!! That sounds freaking delicious.

Exciting-Rub-6006 t1_jcp6vbm wrote

Wiz wit is the only way. But like others said it’s all about the roll. Ma Gerks used to get theirs from philly delivered but I don’t know anymore been 10 plus years since I lived in city

I used to work at a place where the Jeno’s cheesesteaks food truck would come by at lunch every couple of weeks and they were solid if you ever have the chance. I think they have a restaurant somewhere.

Best I've had in the area is the Real Thing in Towson. It is absolutely worth the trip
