Anything like the originals in New Haven or a totally different experience?

Agree. It’s been more consistent lately Vs their early days.
Never been to Fairfield, but West Hartford and Waterbury were always fine.
They’re fine. But don’t expect it to be anything like the original.
I’ve never been to the original (not in the mood to drive into New Haven)
It’s a very park-able city. Definitely worth a trip. Underrated city imo
I cry tears of joy into my Pepes pie before consuming it.
Waterbury is good when they don’t mess up your order . We order online and get there at the correct time , girl says ok , hang on . I then watch the wonderful young men make my pizzas (3 ) while I’m standing there . She’s says it’s going to be 10 minutes . Yeah ok . 28 minutes later its ready . A lot Of of shit going on in that kitchen. I watched a girl braid another’s hair over the boxes and another one eating a slice while working near customers pies. Teary tasted good but the bull shit was unreal
Take the train
IMO neither of these pizza places are worth the price let alone the wait and hassle. Bar and modern are much better In new haven. Fairfield is bleak with choices to eat, only place I can think of near by is hub and spoke that is good
I’ve heard bad reviews about the Sally’s in Fairfield. I like Fairfield Pepe’s.
Beverly’s in nearly Black Rock beats them both.
It’s not a hard drive. Or go to Zuppardi’s or Mike’s in West Haven, Papa’s or Jimmy’s in Milford.
Fairfield Pepe’s is very inconsistent lately. Often too thick and doughy.

I can't speak to Sally's but I had the Fairfield pepes a few times over the years before the pandemic and I found it pretty hit or miss. It seemed like it depended on who was working that day, or something. But I will say it was more often a hit than a miss.
