Looking for a mechanic in the Enfield area. So far I've found Mad Hatter in Enfield, and Heavy's in Windsor. Also open do other suggestions. Does anyone have experience with iether of these shops? How is the Firestone in Enfield for simple things like oil changes?

Been in Enfield many years and mad hatter is known as honest and reputable shop. I’ve dealt with them several times. Because of honesty prices wil be fair but nothing is cheap these days you get what you pay for. For oil changes Firestone is fine but be careful of the up sell to more work

Mad Hatter does seem to be a little pricy, but I'm ok with that as long as the quality of their work is good. They quoted $780 for an oil change, tranny and coolant flush, AC cleaning to remove a musty odor, and new engine and cabbin air filters. Vehicle is a Chevy Equinox. Edit: That price did not include an oil change.

I'd like to know what an "A/C cleaning" entails. Spraying some cleaner down your vents and replacing your cabin filter should take care of any musty smell. I could be wrong, but I'd definitely question it.

Firestone is fine,. If there is still a tire country out there on the border of somers, they always had good service and good prices. They've probably been there 40 years at this point...
