It's down 4% this morning alone.

We're in bank run territory right now which means recessionary backdrop will keep it lower than last year, despite the ongoing pillaging of Ukraine.

Cumbys Torrington. There’s three cumbys here w wildly different prices ranging from 3.29 - 2.90 lol

There is a gas station at the end of my street and it’s consistently higher so I’m always on the lookout for a good one with lower prices. Good to know thank you!

They said this winter was going to be freezing cold too, and heating oil prices would skyrocket....

Lies. All lies. I'll believe it when I see it

Nobody said that this winter would be cold, in fact everyone (those qualified to speak on the subject) said quite the opposite. Oil prices did skyrocket, considering it went from ~$3/gal to almost $6.

AdHistorical7107 t1_jdhgowi wrote

I didn't pay more than $3.49 a gallon for heating oil this winter.

Right on on those qualified to speak lol. Most of that "end of world" talk came right before November lol.

Not route 2. Any chance I get to shit on route 2 I take it. That’s the worst highway in the state if you’re goal is to stay awake behind the wheel. Zero lights, long winding turns…

I_Am_Penguini t1_jdgxmw7 wrote

Lots of drunks making the casino run, so there are a lot of stressors to keep you awake.

Not to mention they really fucked up paving it and had to come back and scrape the high spots down. Fuck that road

South Glastonbury/Portland. There’s no one around, go hang out at the ferry dock.

Tuttle Ave from Hamden / Cheshire through the orchards and woods to Wallingford. Same answer as it was in the mid-00's, the last time I went randomly driving around in the middle of the night.

If I’m high I go to my local Taco Bell ! If not then I go cruse around Bethany ! Lots of back roads with little traffic !!

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted for saying you would avoid impaired drivers…

Head just south of Middletown to Durham! there's a loop I do to clear my head that takes me around by Lyman orchards, south through Durham main st and then take a left on higganum rd after the Dari serv. It brings you out at higganum. Then I just take 154 up back towards Middletown. It's gotta be really dark at night so take care.

If you want longer drives I also like going south on 77 or 79 out of Durham.

flyer08 t1_jdlr4pe wrote

Idk why but Higganum Rd just hits differently than others, especially at night

I'd go down to New Haven and get a sandwich at mamouns. Open til 3am 365 days a year.

wakinupdrunk t1_jdi5rz9 wrote

Seconding this - Mamoun's is always worth a stop, but it hits even better late.

Salisbury out near Lime Rock Park, or Killingly/Putnam or anywhere else on the I-395 Corridor.

Nowadays, if I'm driving late at night I'm coming home from out of state. Most of the fun roads I know of look best during the day and the right season.

kimwim43 t1_jdhqays wrote

Oh, no, subby. You're not going to set up a roadblock so you can abduct me and lock me in your basement for the next 20 years THAT easy,
Away, Satan!

JaKr8 t1_jdh61fs wrote

There are some great drives in the 91/9/95 triangle just south of you. Just go explore.

And 154 is a nice ride also.

But at night there really isn't much to see........

I know a lot of people who used to drive up to Mohawk Mountain late - some solid star gazing that way.

I’ve lived in Fairfield county my whole life and I have to disagree with you there homie. During the day it can be fun because you get to look at a bunch of beautiful homes, but at night it’s really pretty lack luster.

3

Luis__FIGO t1_jdic59a wrote

at night you have great windy roads just like the rest of CT, still nice

1

ADaddyProbs t1_jdihhif wrote

Yea it is nice, I just wouldn’t put it on the list for best night drives in CT. Too populated, too much development etc.
