"It's ok, officer, I have 20/20 vision. Sure, there are a lot of bats out here today, but am able to dodge them every time. Plus, I can read minds. I mean, I don't know the words you're thinking but the color is definitely purple, with little flashes of yellow."

Rep. Craig Fishbein, R- Wallingford, said those DUI penalties did little to address roadway fatalities caused by impaired driving.

“Unfortunately in many of these instances, somebody’s dead and you can’t bring them back,” Fishbein said. “So it’s not solace to me that, ‘Well they’re still going to get arrested for driving under the influence.’”

Well, the most problematic substance by a significant margin is alcohol, yet they don't give a shit about that here.

Just because you're decriminalizing personal amounts of mushrooms doesn't mean people will be buying them to drive on them now, lol. People who consume them now don't care about the legality regardless, and someone irresponsible enough to drive while under the influence of a psychedelic are going to do it regardless of the legal status of said drug. The entire point is to stop legally punishing people for possession of a substance that's less dangerous then many many others and has stated therapeutic effects. Republicans will never get behind this kind of stuff no matter how much it makes sense.

we can't have a society where the things anyone is allowed to do are only the things you're allowed to do while driving, that's insane. How will police stop sex while driving? How will police stop laser eye surgery while driving? better ban those too

What effect do you get from them? I tried them to treat debilitating refractory existential depression. It helped very little, to the point it was almost not worth it, and I noticed no change in sensory perception etc.

When I microdosed I always just felt a little more confident and that I operated at a couple notches higher then normal. Listened better, focused more. When I was taking large doses it would just magnify my feelings, def dealt with some dark trips but for the most part a lot of love and euphoria. Laughed until my abs hurt, made friends with everyone I came in contact with and nature. You know, super dangerous shit republicans would hate.

I watched a tar paper roof turn into snake skin and drip off the building on mushrooms. I reached out to touch the tar paper to stop the hallucination and I watched it rippling and tugging around my fingers.

CT is $42B in debt. Why does it matter what anyone does at this point? Just make everything legal, tax it, and fix maybe one pothole. Hell, they could’ve just made betting on UCONN basketball legal and handed out free shrooms as a celebration for being out of debt.

Depression is horrible and for some , crippling.

This said The best course of action for some is Psilocybin. I have taken the recreational for sure, but in small doses for depression is truly a gift and amazing

Legalize immediately

Having extensive experience with psilocybin and beyond, I reiterate my opinion that we need to stop using "hallucinogen" to refer to psychedelics and entheogens. It is an inadequate incomplete label, poor marketing, and gives ammo to ignoramuses like the politician quoted about.

Also, who's to say those are hallucinations? just because other people can't see them? cymatics, yantras, sacred geometry, fractals, the fibonacci sequence, etc etc etc

Nah I think it’s more nefarious than that. They get campaign money (D’s and R’s both) from the liquor stores and whatnot. This is why supermarkets couldn’t sell liquor. I feel for the mom and pop shops, but at the end of the day most people are going to continue their habits of purchasing from what’s convenient rather than price. To mention big pharma and whoever else has an interest in this stuff not getting legalized.

That being said, as another commenter below mentioned, it’s both whack ass parties. We could be making more tax revenue that could be kicked back to useful programs or lower our taxes (an insane idea that could actually work) but instead we have a bunch of rich people running the poor show. Sucks.
