Interesting piece of information… was switching suppliers to attempt to mitigate the January surge in price. Constellation wasn’t able to switch me due to a lock on the Eversource account. Apparently they introduced this as a security feature for many or all …. Maybe. But suspicious timing. The rep said you need to call Eversource first have it unlocked and then resubmit. It was quick phone call but nevertheless a step for others to be aware of.

It’s been a feature for quite a while to prevent a supplier from switching you out of standard service without your consent. You can just log onto your account and take it off. It’s not the default; you have to put it there or request it’s done on your behalf. Many people complain that they get calls/visits from suppliers and wind up signed up without their consent.
