Dracula Drive is Velvet Street and is where the Melon Head tale takes place.

> The melon heads live on the outskirts of town on heavily wooded country roads, known as melon head roads. Zion Hill Road, for example, is Milford’s melon head road. Saw Mill City Road is Shelton’s. The melon heads also supposedly live on the outskirts of Monroe, Stratford, Seymour, Weston, Easton, Oxford, Southbury, Fairfield, New Haven and Trumbull.

Possible urban legend possible truth, but Stephen King lived in Stratford for a few years as a child and it was rumored this is where he got inspiration for Stand By Me and he saw someone get hit on the train tracks
QuestorPS7 t1_j56pec3 wrote
Stephen King for sure lived in Stratford for a while as a child and talks about it in his book On Writing. He doesn’t mention the train incident, but he does talk about how a trashed, vacant lot near his family’s apartment in Stratford has appeared in many of his books, including It.

Still waiting for Easton, Cornwall, Moodus, and Hamden people as I see none below and know they all have one. Heck, saw the Warrens picture from Easton once in Storrs. My town's boring, except it has the Haunting in CT house.

Downs Road in Hamden (goes all the way to Bethany) is supposedly haunted by ghosts and things similar to melon heads.
CT_Cryptids t1_j56qo1m wrote
There’s always the Moodus Noises, which have lots of great stories associated with them.
CTRealtorCarl t1_j4xtdqi wrote
2 for Bethany...one is complete legend "The Downs Road Monster" having to do with a creepy abandoned road that would have connected Bethany to Hamden.
Another is "Murder by a madman" which is written on a gravestone in Sperry Cemetary... this one is less legend and based on truth but worthy of legend if you look it up!

CT_Cryptids t1_j56qjdc wrote
The Downs Road Monster and the Charles Sanford murders are somewhat related because the murders happened near the southern end of Downs Road. There’s not a direct line, but Sanford may be how stories of the Downs Road Monster began.
The whole thing is a bizarre tale. Sanford definitely had a mental illness but he likely snapped because his uncle — no joke — was murdered by a cult in New Haven.

Shoebox Lane, in Wallingford. It was a scary story my grandparents used to tell, and I looked it up one day as an adult only to find out it was true- dismembered body found stuffed in a shoebox, they never solved who/why.
