you can probably pry that white grommet out with a small screw drier or similar, then move it further up the wire and pop it back in

This was my recommendation, too.

Use pliers to squeeze it together. They sell special tools to remove them but they aren't necessary.

Dont slice/cut the wire with screwdriver

I would just use heat shrink tape and a heat gun, but I'm lazy.

Electrical tape, then call it a day 🤷‍♀️
