I'm curious what the black streak streak on the blue iceberg is. Any idea?

Typically its volcanic ash or sand.

I was just there in October. It's likely dirt. We hiked up and into the glacier and the top of it is incredibly dirty. Just earth debris, sand, etc. Much of the sand in Iceland is volcanic, black.

My guide told me ash. But apparently the dirt is so ashy there’s really no difference.

volcanic ash. If you imagine back when it was freezing there would still be debri flying around and getting stuck within the ice.
