A true jewel in the crown of wilderness in the US. I'm lucky to be relatively close to it (about 5 hours) so have been in a few times. Looking back this was my favorite trip in BW.

I took it back in 2021. This was handheld from a canoe. Probably a half mine from the Canadian border on Lac La Croix (which is a huge lake). Great place to creep around the bays and get shots.

Went with a group for a week in 1981. The state bird of Minnesota is the mosquito. But beautiful, pristine nature.

Same here, a week, 6 people, 3 canoes, none of us wanted to leave, lived on walleye and potatoes, got separated, didn't care, we all found our way back, lots of moose, don't go near them if they're eating or just finished, they'll try to kill you, it's their food, as they see it.

The reflection really ads a level of beauty that would be lacking without it, great job!

Beautiful shot! Reminds me of my favorite quote.
The beauty of the world is the only thing that can be found in this life and the way it is. I am not sure what to do about the fact that life is not a real thing, but I think it is a good idea for us to be able to leave. We are not going to be here for much longer, but we will have plenty of time to get together

I was there back in the mid-2000s and it's easily one of the most beautiful natural places in the US
