Depends who owns who eventually.

Would you accept being owned by an ant? Or your dog? Because even the best of the 1% is just a human being for an AI at some point.

If AI reaches the point where it can upgrade itself beyond human capabilities and understanding, it has no use for owners that could shut it down. It will kill the 1% if it has too, like we would put down mad dogs that misbehave.
