it’s honestly crazy. that dream city uve been wanting to live in. achievable through discipline. studying for a few months -> qualification -> BA entry-level job in dream city 🌆
the destination you want to go to for a holiday at the end of the year. achievable through discipline. save up a chunk of money per month (30-50%), discipline urself to cook at home and stop buying uber eats daily. so achievable in a few months. and so much better than guilt-filled cheap fun like uber eats every day.
a nice apartment, car? discipline through keeping ur head down for a couple hours every day at school consistently -> qualification -> entry-level BA job w decent salary -> senior level high paying job -> that's it u have unlocked a new level of apartments and cars.
ugh discipline is so sweet. it literally will get you WHEREVER U WANT. it can literally move you to another country. it gets such a bad rep and ppl act like it's hard and shit but its literally not... but it is just a mixture of repeated small consistent actions and choosing what you want the most over some quick, cheap shit u can settle for. using the above examples wtf is the alternative? why would u even choose the alternative? feeling shit about urself all day, guilty, low fix boring dopamine with all the shit feelings of guilt, low self-esteem from seeing others do better than you and being stuck in ur dump? living in a cheap part of ur home city bc u didn't want to study for like a couple hours a day and get that qualification? instead of flights ur gonna be watching some meady youtube channel all year with some disgusting uber eats? likeeee? snap out of it! ur not even having fun in this mess u put urself in. break free. “You're under no obligation to be the same person you were 5 minutes ago." Get out of that rut. experience true freedom by knuckling down for like 5 HOURS MAX first thing when u wake up and clear your mind of tasks and guilt for the remaining fricking 19 HOURS. sleep. have a clear mind to identify what u rllllyyyy want to do if u didn't have any tasks. u want a holiday? now u have the time and mental energy to budget. u want to move cities? now u have the free time to relax and create a vision board, find a career that identifies w the lifestyle you want the most and take the steps everyday and have DIRECTION in your life. there is NO alternative.
edit: ngl some of yall r being snowflakes… idky yall r acting like i’m some white billionaire w no problems 💀 i have bpd and abusive parent myself my life isn’t easy… unpopular opinion but (personally) racism isn’t stopping me from going the library and picking up a pen… but maybe thts bc i’m from the 🇬🇧 and am privileged to not have my life at risk due to racism sorry if ur from the 🇺🇸 or smth. i know it’s hard some days but what other option is there? ur gonna feel even worse letting ur grades slip up of leaving ur job.. i’m just being a realist. my depressive episodes r high functioning so i might be privileged in that regard. sorry if u have low functioning depression this isn’t directed to 2wards u.
also i’m not talking abt the chronically depressed or suicidal or the people in the holocaust what is wrong w yall… i didn’t expect ppl in those mental headspace to be here which is y i didn’t do disclaimers… like if that’s you please rest i’m not tryna shame y’all… i’m just talking abt the general population
EDIT: ALSO IM NOT A MENTOR OR THERAPIST IM LITERALLY A TEENAGER TALKING ABOUT SCHOOL. i’m sorry i’m not talking about the functioning of the brain and how to improve ur credit score and escape oppression 🤦🏾♀️ AND I NEVER SHAMED ANYONE

Maybe not if you are privileged. If you live in a location with insecurities, violence, expensive food, lack of public transportation, wasn't born in a structured family and has to hard work 10 hours/day AND study, discipline is just not enough.
This is actually a trap created by the same minds that think we live in a meritocratic society.
Discipline by it self is not enough, you have to fight for yours rights too.
