The Chinese stock market experienced a drastic drop over the past 3 months. With most local economists failing to explain this phenomena, a renowned Chinese economist decided to albeit reluctantly phone up his American counterpart.
Due to the fraught ties between the two countries, the Chinese economist's local peers advised him against doing so as the American would only offer critical comments against his country and government.
The Chinese economist bearing this possibility in mind, told the American he would not tolerate negative remarks towards his country.
Now, the American economist knew from a foreign investor perspective, the latest power reshuffling in the Chinese government has much to do with the stock market sharp decline. He knew whatever he is going to say, would only upset his Chinese counterpart. He decided to offer a non-committal answer which would neither offend the Chinese or make himself look stupid.
So the American answered his Chinese counterpart by borrowing a famous quote from the late John Rockerfeller and said, "Fluctuations."
The Chinese counterpart upon hearing this, became incensed and shouted, "Fluc you white people too!"

My dad told me a variation of this joke about twenty years ago. I laughed but advised him not to tell it in public as it is a bit racist to make fun of the way a group of people talk. That was a while back, these days I would imagine it is going to be even more dodgy to tell this joke.
