This is one letter away from going to a very dark place...
What letter?
Young man there’s a place you can go
I... couldn't possibly say.
Go on, say it
I said, young man, when you’re short on your dough…

"Young Man, there's no need to feel down." Is the first line of a song called "YMCA". It even has a dance tied to the song.
There is a song called "YMCA" by The Village People... the joke includes lyrics from the song and the humor rests upon this reference.
Explain this, please.
Can someone tell me where the joke is?
A duck’s feathers are known as down
I often wonder how the Village People met and formed a band. They come from such diverse and varied backgrounds.
It was a play on words
Down = duck feathers
Petting the duck = Syndrom.
It was my attempt to be clever. Not to put down anyone.
Oh, ok. I see it now.
They were from the same village obviously
iirc it was a casting call.
Someone already had the idea and songs in-hand, just needed a group of men who fit the bill and could dance passably.
