Being from Boston I really didn't realize we talk that way till I moved up here.

I don't get why the Demoulas sign says maket basket.

(I still call the Hannaford in Portsmouth Pic 'n' Pay. The name changed 20+? years ago. I don't like change.)

Hysterical! As I read the sign, I thought “yuh, that’s pretty much it.”

It's probably the camera angle but that Market Basket looks like it has the same amount of space as a Dollar Tree. Smallest Mahket Basket in the world!

One thing I found out that is weird is NE folks call athletic shoes sneakers and from the midwest, we call them tennis shoes.

Main Street Grocery in Damariscotta is probably always gonna be "Yellow Front" to some folks. (Myself included.)
But I don't remember it taking very long for anyone to stop calling Rite Aid "Laverdiere's (Pharmacy)." Now that it's Walgreen's, I still say Rite Aid from time to time, but maybe that's just old age creepin' up on me.

I bet someone with skill and the right software could add an 'H' to that photo. 8)

I remember seeing a "Price Chopper" grocery in Syracuse, NY. The first "e" was out. Ouch!

Yup. I'm a "transplant" to Maine, and that wasn't long after I moved here. I think they built the new store in Damariscotta, and shortly after, got bought up by Rite Aid.
Waltz's Pharmacy's space in Scottyville became part of Reny's when the Underground location expanded, but I think they still have a pharmacy in Waldoboro.
:The only constant is change," and all that, but I don't recall seeing anything that said I hafta like change.

Hoping to get picked for a role in Grumpiest Old Men, if someone decides to make a Part III. 8-D
