I'm planning a trip to NYC over Memorial Day Weekend for my wife's 40th birthday and trying to find a passenger van to rent that would fit us and four other couples, so 10 people total plus luggage. I've hit up all the rental companies and the closest they can get me one is Wilmington, MA. Also tried Darling's in Augusta based on their website, but they don't have passenger vans at that location. Does anybody know any other dealerships or businesses I might try? Really appreciate the assist!

consider two smaller vehicles; minivan sized Parking a large van in NYC will be a PITA

Enterprise has a 12 passenger van available in Portland for $129/day.

Get a one way ticket and rent in Boston, drop off in maine. They may not charge for drop off before the busy season in maine starts up.

That's a good thought, I'll give that a try.

I would just take the concord coach bus from Portland to NYC. Granted it is or it was 150 per person round trip but at least you can take your bags, they handle the driving and you can sit back and relax and you don't have to deal with parking in NYC.

Rent an Rv! Way more fun, comfy, and has on board toilet.

For sure would be more fun, but that would be even more of a parking headache in the city than a 12-person van. 😂

Thanks, we considered that! But between changing from North to South Station in Boston, and then getting 10 people plus luggage from 42nd St to Brooklyn, we felt that driving together would be a better fit for this trip.

Concord trailways has a direct bus from Portland to NYC that may be worth looking into. Still leaves you with getting from Manhattan to Brooklyn, but that may be more tolerable depending on exactly where you're going.

You can rent them from most of the car rental companies
