Hey y’all I convinced my partner to let me make the living room music themed. I’m looking for any tips or ideas since you guys can be pretty creative! Here’s what im working with this far:

I have 2 guitars, a banjo, and a keyboard. Plus a set of harmonicas and 2 tambourines just to give you an idea of what I have. Oh, and an amp of course.

Im thinking of making a framed concert poster wall with my stringed instruments hanging around. Maybe like a gallery wall.

I have no idea how to fill the rest of the space. A vinyl rug? Id share a picture of the room but I don’t want to get roasted for any little thing (it’s Reddit). Anyways I know it’s vague but I thought I’d ask. Thanks in advance for your help!!

Maybe get some decorative sound absorption panels? I’m sure they have them with music themed art. You can hang the instruments on the walls with wall mounts, or a wooden case with glass on the front if you don’t want the dust all over it. I guess I’m thinking of more of a jam room than just a themed room.

I never would’ve thought of that! Yes I definitely want it to be functional so I appreciate that consideration 🙌🏼

The sound absorption panels also make the room nicer for listening to music, or watching movies or something. Takes away the echo. They can be pricey but also something that can be made yourself if you Google it. The hardest part is finding the right insulation material that goes inside. After that, you can choose your own fabric to cover them so it can be a printed pattern or just a solid color that compliments the room.

I’ve always wanted to use vinyl records and clear epoxy to make a floor, and use the covers/sleeves to make a bar…
