Nice pic! Shows how much land near Broad Street Station remains vacant or underutilized.

Cool perspective! Thanks for sharing

FBI building and the lot next to it desperately crying out for development.

Wonder if they sleuth the subreddit....

Hey FBI, maybe F off to East Hanover or something and allow that key plot to be appropriately developed and add something to the city, instead of being wasted as your personal riverside fortress

From here I can’t tell if Newark is big or small, I can literally seeing the ending of the west and south wards. Honestly this pic is super fire

Development around Red Bull Arena has been painfully slow.

Newark is quite small especially by American city standards. We have the population of Pittsburgh ~300k but only about half the land that Pittsburgh does (24 square miles for Newark while Pittsburgh is almost 50 miles total).

Yup that’s the other thing. That 24 square miles includes a lot of airport and port land that isn’t useable for the general population so the city is really even smaller than that. Maybe like 18-20 miles of usable space.

Yeah by population but land area we’re smaller than a lot of towns. The largest “city” by land area is Vineland in south jersey but it’s a city in name only and would appear rural to most people

Man if I could go back town and redraw Newark borders man this city would be large. Probably keep downtown in the east near the river and have every major road head towards it. Have the most western part of Newark look more green and hilly, the type of area were dears are eating grass in your yard
