I'd love to help, but I don't really need a website for anything...

Why not find some local businesses that have no websites, or bad/old websites and make new ones for them.

You can source photos/menus/testimonials/packages/products/etc etc from other review websites and social media. Supplement with stock photos where you have to.

Then go pitch your services to these businesses, with most of the work already done. Build your business and portfolio simultaneously, make some money, learn a bit about selling your services professionally.

We've had all sorts of issues with Dept. Of sanitation and trash pickup.

We've had them take trash bags off the top of the can, but leave one in the bottom.

We've had them just blatantly ignore certain cans, but empty ones right next to it. Caught on video just ignoring our cans.

We've had them just totally skip pickup days for no reason

They'll regularly just throw empty cans into the middle of the road.

And they have the audacity to ticket us for accidentally putting our trash out on a holiday weekend when there was no pickup, even though their website had information that directly contradicted what they claimed was the correct procedure. Website hasn't been updated in years.

I had one incident where we had no cardboard pickup for 4 weeks due to 3 consecutive holidays, and being out of state for the other, and the volume of cardboard was just getting insane, even when broken down. I called them to find out where in the city I could take the cardboard myself so I didn't have to wait another week for the pickup. Turns out they fundamentally won't let people drop off trash or recycling anywhere in the city?! Even small towns have garbage and recycling centers where you can pull up, drop off your various recycling, cooking oil, electronics, batteries, etc. Yet in a city of ~300000 ppl, that has a serious trash/litter problem, they have no resources like this available and scoffed at the idea I was trying to get rid of stuff the right way.

Newark sanitation is an absolute fucking joke...sorry for the rant lol

Which is it?

Here's my public response Cole

Fuck off and leave the kid alone... He's trying to do good in the community. Sure, it may be a very uncommon & unconventional way of going about it, but his intentions are obviously coming from the right place.

Who are you to question? What are you doing in the community to make a difference?

Public safety issue my ass. If you gave a shit about public safety, there are hundreds of other issues in the city you could've chosen to focus on.The only person "at risk" as a result of his actions (patrolling a specific section of NWK & giving out hand warmers to those less fortunate), is him, which should be described as bravery, or maybe stupidity, but certainly not a public safety issue.

Keep doing you Midnight, & stay safe 💪

So you'll need a way to get from Vailsburg to Newark Penn Station. Plenty of Ubers & light rail if you're willing to walk a bit.

I'd recommend going to Jersey City & Liberty State Park. Can get the ferry from there out to the statue I believe. Also great views of lower Manhattan

Path train from Newark Penn to Hoboken. Take the Jersey City light rail from Hoboken terminal to Liberty State Park.

Where are you staying?

Are you actually interested in where to go in Newark, or are you flying into EWR and figured this would be a good starting point?

If you're in town for a weekend only, you'll be limited how much you can get done.

Trains from Newark to NYC are frequent and very safe. Either PATH or NJTransit available, depending where in NYC you want to end up.

Cool perspective! Thanks for sharing

FBI building and the lot next to it desperately crying out for development.

Wonder if they sleuth the subreddit....

Hey FBI, maybe F off to East Hanover or something and allow that key plot to be appropriately developed and add something to the city, instead of being wasted as your personal riverside fortress

If I were you, I'd head up towards Newark Museum. Super cool, and can easily kill an hour or two there.

It's across the street from Halsey st, which has a bunch of small restaurants, a coffee shop.

Also across the park is Newark Local Brewery if you want to sneak in a few pints before the game.

Maybe a 15m walk from the brewery to Pru.

Not sure about how long to arrive before a game
