Is this lawful? I think that this is a twofold scandal.: The rest of the footage is no longer available. The locomotive supposedly wasn‘t inspected by the NTSB.

PS: According to the article, “The camera inside the train car had 12 hours of recording space, all of which was used except for a 15-minute time span before and five minutes after the derailment.“

EDIT: According to another article, which was published subsequently, Norfolk Southern wrote a statement to push back on the claim that the derailed train was immediately put back into service. Source: globalnews

Corporations run the USA meaning the government. They make the laws, even when they get caught the fines or trouble they don’t get in mean nothing. Profits are all that matter. Share holders are even more important.

We’ll just have to assume the worst was on there and give max penalties. Government takes over the rails and we finally get some infrastructure for high speed rails like the rest of the fucking world

Honestly firing squad is fairly humane compared to a lot of other forms of execution. Vast majority of people are going to die quickly and relatively painlessly. I would probably choose it over most other forms of execution. Except maybe lethal injection.

The fine is cheaper than the legal consequences. Congratulations, welcome to capitalism. We need a national rail system for freight AND people moving. Take that shit back from private corporations.

Of course they did. They also had the governor burn the evidence.

And what will come of this? Nothing will come of this, because corporate owns the governments.
