“It’s more inclusive to just not do it”. Wtf? A couple kids don’t celebrate Halloween so they cancel the whole thing and lean heavy into the safety trope.

blinks do you think the people who are commonly thought of as “woke” have the issue on this one?

Usually it’s the religious parents that have a problem with Halloween.

Freakin RIDICULOUS IDIOTS making these decisions!!! In Arkansas you have people at School Board meetings standing up and saying if KIDS or ANYONE CHOOSES to be gay - they DESERVE DEATH!!!! What in the hell is Wrong with people? Why do we LET IDIOTS dictate? A Halloween parade is a problem because......??? I'd LOVE to hear ONE GOOD reason .......ugh

Are they going to cancel prom so the kids without dates aren't excluded?

Hey let’s cancel Christmas.. some kids don’t celebrate that…. Let’s see those administrators work for that week instead of staying home or going on a vacation. Yeah… I thought so…

How did they come up with this answer. Halloween parades were a pretty big deal to my kids and their friends.

They came up with that answer because if one person is offended, or their child gets their feelings hurt they have to deal with it. It is easier to not deal with it than to deal with it. So no parade. And bonus, they don't lose instructional time either.

I thought most schools stopped doing their Halloween parades at school at least a decade ago, citing safety and because parents don't get to see them.

The kids can still dress up and celebrate inside. Genuinely curious, what was the point of the parade anyway?

How dare children be organized and having fun in public.

Did you respond to the wrong comment? I really genuinely have no idea. I’ve never heard of a “parade” on Halloween at school so I have no idea what it entails. I thought it was banning Halloween from the school entirely which doesn’t sound like it’s the case.
