All the dogs in Linglestown now have environmental allergies?!

I moved to Linglestown two years ago. Since then both myself and my dog have formed SEVERE allergies. Both my doctor and the vet said it’s 100 percent environmental. Literally every single dog (~10) my street have hot spots and are licking their paws raw. What the hell? It’s so bad that I’m now planning to move. I will save thousands on big dog allergy meds by just leaving.

Edit: Title is incorrect: all the dogs on my street, not the entire town.

Licking paws? What is the road department using to treat the roads? Sounds like they chose a chemical, not sand, then forgot to dilute it. Just a guess though.

This is scary and heartbreaking for pets and pet care-givers!!!! My pup was severely harmed from a neighbor's professional lawn care toxic products. They were literally sprayed onto our lawn, about 5 feet through our fence!! It took me moving before I figured it out.

I began wiping her feet, legs, and body with a natural cleaner after every outside time or walk. It helped but not completely. She had severe skin issues. Raw, bleeding, but not from chewing!!! Toxic chemicals.

After the move she healed!!! But the fur right at her tail and body never grew back. 😪 The rest healed up well.

All the best to you. That sounds really difficult. Poor pups.

Welcome to Pennsylvania. Come on down and OD on opiates, get a bogas over priced college education in a shit hole town that houses grandfathered in old people who live like rats. If you hate the city, so do we! That's why we put factories and warehouses next to every useful resource and major highway to build up our state income. sounds like something maybe being sprayed on the grass / area then. pesticides or fertilizer possibly? if you live in a valley it could be getting trapped... or your community might be spraying it.

If its literally just your neighbors and you and nobody else, I would do a water test and an air quality test and see what they show

You should check with indoor cat owners on the street. If it’s environmental like a mold local to you the cats would probably have enough exposure to react, but if it’s only dogs who walk outside getting it, it could increase the likelihood it’s a chemical on the sidewalk/streets.

A plant that is growing in abundance nearby? I paid $600 for allergy testing for my cat. It was a blood sample. Not sure the cost for a dog but might be worth it if so many are suffering.

Spring and fall is when my (and my children's) allergies are at their worst. I'm down 83 a ways though. But the timing makes me think it's plant based.
