Electricity is up 50 percent and gas is up 10 percent so your bill is those same percentages higher than it was before

I'm still trying to understand how my energy usage (kWh per month) is 20% higher this year than the same time last year. It is not just the price per kWh, but also the usage that seems to have gone up for many people. If anything, my family is using less power this year, but the bill says it has gone up. I'm really starting to suspect they are doing something shady with the monthly usage estimates. I know I'm not the only one.

Just piping in: you shouldn't get a bill from Nat'l grid since RI energy took over.

Yes, mine is now outrageous. It’s almost $100 higher yet it’s the same kw/h that it was in the same month last year.

National Grid sent a outrageous amount for November electric and gas. This November was so warm, we barely used heat. I am from Barrington, did anyone else received unusually high bill from National Grid this month?
