Well, technically you're absolutely correct but I just saw the bag of microwaveable not-popped popcorn and thought of this stuff

Popcorn is a bleve of the outer layer of the kernel. This is the same if you heat up a pressurized container of any kind until it fails.

There is no oxidation reduction reaction going on though, so no explosion.

Popcorn is a specific kind of corn
