I guess but if you only have eight followers on Instagram then it’s pretty good isn’t it

If we received legit compliments as often as we receive likes, we would probably value them the same

Yes, this is the way I view it to. I started a YouTube channel recently, my first video got almost 200 views, over 10 likes and some subscriptions. Sounds like very little until I remember most of my live shows when I was a touring musician had like 20 people there and none of them asked "Hey can I get on a mailing list to know when you release new stuff?"

Also uploaded to tiktok and one video got like 1500 views. Imagine what that looks like in the real world, that's like a concert!

One compliment in real life would keep me going for the next 3 years.

I rarely get any likes. Maybe one or two. But I just post pics of birds and dogs to my ones of followers.

That is why comments actually feel much better than a bunch of "internet points"

As anyone can like/upvote without a second though but commenting actually requires some effort

So true, and for the twitherers: Jesus only had 12 followers according to Mark, so anything close to that is actually son-of-godly!!

And at least 6 of those compliments would be considered harassment :(
