That's what I'm banking on. Got a passion YouTube channel running. 5 videos in and 69 (nice) subscribers but all the comments are super positive with some people saying "this is the most underrated channel on youtube" and I feel at some point it'll grow exponentially.

If not that's OK because I'm making the art I want to make.

Yes, if you have the right supports available. Tree stumps CAN go on to live for hundreds of years, but they don't do it alone. They only survive because they are connected to other trees through their root systems and the other trees actively send nutrients to the beleaguered stump.

Humans are not so different. The more supports you have in place the easier it is to fail and begin anew. If you have no supports though it's almost impossible.

Yes, this is the way I view it to. I started a YouTube channel recently, my first video got almost 200 views, over 10 likes and some subscriptions. Sounds like very little until I remember most of my live shows when I was a touring musician had like 20 people there and none of them asked "Hey can I get on a mailing list to know when you release new stuff?"

Also uploaded to tiktok and one video got like 1500 views. Imagine what that looks like in the real world, that's like a concert!

I used to be a working musician, have a degree in jazz performance, toured the country and played countless shows.

Due to some terrible events I sort of lost my mind for a bit. Mental collapse. I sold all my stuff and lived in the woods for awhile. Came back when I was so alone I started hallucinating people in the woods looking back at me.

Got a natural sciences diploma. Jumped around a bunch of jobs. I was totally burnt out of music, didn't even play anymore. I rarely played for over a decade.

Just recently I've been getting back into it. I decided to film a musical project idea I had. It was fun, I recorded more.

Now I'm posting them to YouTube and tiktok and I'm getting very positive responses! Someone said it was true art which touched me. Maybe I've wasted a decade not following my dreams or maybe that was the path I was always meant to take but yes, be you, express it to others. Life is too short.

The sad reality is those who mind often do matter. Your boss, your coworkers, your clients. You have to pretend at least a little to fit into society.
