It’s my first year as a Stamford resident and I went to pay my mill tax online, and saw it was a $4 service fee. I don’t want to pay a cent more than I have to, so I went to pay by phone, only to find out it’s a $5 service fee. Is the only way to avoid the service fee by mailing in a check? What’s the cheapest way to pay this damned thing?

Can you save a stamp by paying for it in person?

Do you know if there’s a service fee charge for mailing a check? Obviously not if you mail the check for a certain amount, right? Lol

If you pay via bank account online, it's only $0.95

Go to 888 washington blvd on the first floor. I work at the tax collection office (girl with pink hair you cannot miss it) but in person will also be cheaper. You can mail it, just go to the post office and make sure the date is stamped in front of you because we’ve had people send their check in on the 28th of the month, not get it stamped by the post office till like like 1st or 2nd and then they have to pay interest.
