Perhaps it's just marketing... to get people to make posts exactly like this and talk about URBY! Genius really.

It’s tricky because I don’t think there’s an obvious answer to your question sadly, however if there was a “startup place” in Stamford I feel it would be Third Place. Just try and talk to people and see if there are cool projects happening!

Hang out in Serendipity Labs or Third Place and you might find your match.

I don't think that is really true or fair. Stamford is one of the safest places in the USA statistically,

Exactly this, drinking bottled water in Stamford is completely insane.

Riley Mazda do have quite good reviews; you could do a lot worse. Had a very low pressure sales experience in there although I ended up buying something else.
Mazda is lower demand than Honda/Toyota so you will probably have a much nicer customer-driven experience.

I think a giant "WELCOME TO NEW HAVEN" sign would freak out many a sleepy commuter.

Capital Grille maybe? It’s also a chain so they could use the card somewhere other than Stamford if desired

If I were a town planner (I'm not) I would bollard off lower Bedford St and send the Northbound traffic up Greyrock Pl, left onto Forest St and then right up Bedford from there. I'd also make the section of Bedford between Spring St and Forest St two-way so people could access Spring St from Forest St.
I would then turn the parking area outside Lucky's into a Lyft/Uber pick up point and get some CCTV cameras going to enforce strict no parking there.

Pedestrianizing the bottom part of Bedford Street (i.e. McDonalds to Tigin) would be awesome. Tricky to do in practice I know but that’s what town planners are for! Maybe make it timed access with rising bollards. Would be awesome for farmers markets and outdoor dining in the summer. Incredibly common in Europe and they make it work so we can definitely do it too.

They are gutting the restaurant and rebuilding it completely which is messy work, the windows are likely to be damaged in the process. It only takes a month or two usually. I'm not sure what the alternative is to boarding the windows temporarily while they do the work.
ruthless_apricot t1_jampuul wrote
It's a new restaurant, owned by the same guy who owns Kouzina (the Greek place) a few doors down among some other restaurants. It hasn't got a name officially yet but will probably be good - the owner seems to know what he's doing.
They have an Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/officialrestaurantunknown/) which suggests the name might be "Ricano" and the focus might be cocktails/provisions.

I know someone in Atlantic Station West. Pricey yes but very nice amenities, the gym is awesome and the lobby is fancy. Units have lots of glass (with small window opening section only), nice and modern layout but not the biggest square footage and kitchens are only OK. Also lots of dogs in the building, if you care about that.

Modern is the absolute best. Sally's queue is round the block, just not worth it. Modern is better and the queues are minimal.
