I think they technically have the HQ in the City especially after the handover of Hong Kong

Very possibly. Back in the 70s it used to be in Leeds, just off City Square - a huge building, now a hotel. I remember it well, it was before they bought Midland Bank and they still went by the full name "Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank Corporation".
