I thought my last order I received was just wrong becuase the burger was so overdone. When I called to order this time and STRESSED medium rare, the hostess told me they will not allow to go orders of pink burgers anymore.

To me, this means I won’t ever eat take out from there again. I’m not paying 15-20 dollars for a burger that is a hockey puck. Why would they do this???

They haven't been able to do temperature correctly since they opened, why start now.

As a cook, I can tell you it’s because it’s not safe to eat ground meat that is left too pink on the inside, although some will accept it upon requests but it’s up to the head chef/manager normally. When a restaurant asks if you want ‘pink or no pink’ & you chose pink, they cook it to a medium at the least. I’m not trying to be pretentious or anything either just wanted to let you know why!! I’m guessing The Fix finally had a sick case or something and because of this had to stop taking requests for low temp burgers.

I kinda suspect that in addition, medium rare probably keeps the center well in the danger zone for bacterial growth, and without ever getting it high enough to kill bacteria, they're worried about ground beef sitting around in that temperature zone on a shelf and then in a car ride or even longer before being consumed.

Yeah, taking out a rare or medium rare burger is a recipe for disaster- & ecoli

If I had to guess, probably something to do with how burgers will continue to cook for a while after resting for too long, and with delivery they'd get too many complaints of burgers being overdone because of the delivery times and being in a confined box like that. So now they probably just say that so people can expect most of the pink to be gone by the time it gets there. I'd be genuinely surprised if it was hockey puck status though

I’ve been 3 times and I’ve never had a good meal at either location. The burgers taste like they were frozen, the poutine tastes like they use jarred gravy, the buns were stale every time. I’m baffled by the people that recommend this place. I’d pick 5 Guys for a burger every time.

When they first opened they were unique and actually were pretty good. They never recovered from Covid. I was in there on a Sunday a few weeks ago, service was bad, food was “ok”, and on a Sunday literally half the TV’s weren’t working. Their time has come and gone.

Yeah the fix never had good meat, it’s all about the fixings that you use to disguise the meat they serve you

Thank you. The Fix is fucking terrible and it blows my mind that people go there more than once. There are so many better places in Central MA

Dude ground beef is like the left over crap that cannot be sold. It gets ground up so you cannot see how bad it looks….

Don’t get me wrong, I love food. I eat most steaks rare. unless they are very fatty, then I’ll bring the internal temp up to 137. Never with ground beef though, that’s just nasty.

If I cook burgers (rarity), I’ll only cook them like smash burgers. Regular old hamburgers are just plain boring.
