Hey y’all. Does anyone have any good recommendations for churches or other establishments (VFW, KoC, etc) that have Lenten Friday fish fry’s? Searched the sub, most recent post was from 3 years ago. I also have seen the list on the archdiocese website but most were further away from the city.

For Lent in the past we have noticed that a lot of churches and orgs just don't advertise much - but still host on Fridays. The Archdiocese does seem more updated than in past years though.

As far as restaurants go - we've gotten Fishnet at Mt. Vernon Marketplace and it was really good. And Hip Hop's fried tilapia is delicious! A few years back we actually bought an outdoor fryer - so that we can do our own fish fry!

FYI the fishmongers are back now at the new Lexington Market if you ever get the urge to DIY.

hip hop catfish nuggets (or fillets) are the best.

Church of St Mark in Fallston has a fish fry March 10 and 24. St Johns in Hyde’s has a fish dinner March 3 and 31.

I hope St Leo’s is doing theirs this year. It’s not fish fry but pasta with crab and lobster sauce and it’s sooo good.
