I finished the martian two days ago, I'm definitely reading more Andy Weir. Do you think I should skip artemis and go straight for project Hail Mary?

I'd say yes, go straight to Project Hail Mary. That book is an absolute treat.

You can then go back and read Artemis later. It's not bad, but it's his weakest book. The plot of Artemis is great and exactly what you would expect from an Andy Weir novel, but the characters fall a little flat.
