I work nearby this location and went as recently as last Tuesday. Tried to order online today and it was no longer an option. There’s a sign on their door saying that they closed on the 17th. I’m so confused as this location has significant traffic (at least during work days), so it would seem that it’s not related to low volume, but hard to say.

Tried to look for information online with no success. Anyone in the Fort Point area have any info about the closure? Just curious.

I wish there was a reason code that restaurants could publish:

  • 126 - Restaurant closed due to asshole landlord who raised rent over 30%YOY.
  • 149 - Closed to due extremely high activity during Business Hours, but fucking zero otherwise. Couldn't maintain.
  • 214 - Couldn't pay our head chef enough to stay... hired someone subpar and the place was going downhill ever since.
  • 504 - Status Quo. My family opened it, and we just maintain what my parents did... until it became irrelavent.

A tea spot you say... I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

Unrelated, I have a terrible tea addiction yet I am not British

There's another one a 6 minute walk away, on Northern Ave.

Yes, there is. And that’s the one I’ll have to go to from now on, but going to the Fort point location was already a 10 min walk for me, so now it’s a ~30 min round trip for the alternative location. Not ideal given that I go to SG 3-4 times a week.

I work in seaport and I preferred the walk to fort point over the walk to northern (I think google maps claimed northern was closer, but the other one had fewer busy roads to cross). Haven’t gone in awhile but that’s a bummer

Supposedly sweet green is struggling right now on the corporate level. I think they might be cutting costs

Was wondering this same thing. Place was swamped with people every single time I was there. I eat there 3 times a week.

Also its in a convenient spot for me to park and run in a grab my food and get out. The Northern Ave one is a pain to get to. Might go to Harrison Ave one, but parking is tough there.

That one was busy. But probably they are just trying to serve the area out of the one on northern. The weird part is fort point was just as busy I would say landlord probably jacked the rent.

I’d imagine the traffic isn’t as significant as it once was with WFM/hybrid work schedules in one of the most expensive places to rent in Boston.
