Where are you getting this info? If this is true, I am incredibly excited. It’s 5 minutes away from me. Also, what a step up in quality of beer. Brato was pretty terrible but I did like their food.

I asked an employee there yesterday. I heard on Reddit it was going to be the old Beer Works location and they said it would be where Brato was in Allston.

I was bummed because it's less convenient, but happy for them to expand.

Big if true! Also bigger because this seems to be the first place the news is breaking? I can’t find anything outside of confirmation that they are opening a Boston location

Widowmaker from Braintree? Hardly the best brewery in Boston

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I just happen to have a great one 😎 Great IPAs, awesome stouts (which few others make), and great sours...

I don't know any other brewery that just consistently pumps out great beers.

Their rice lager, kameosa, is one of my favorite beers. Perfect for a hot day. Also they allow dogs inside which most breweries dont, so its a place i take my dog when the weather is crap

What's better in your opinion? I think Widowmaker, Lord Hobo, and Dorchester are my 3.

Edit: ok ok thanks for the downvotes, what do you guys think is better? I know I don't have traditional Boston beer preferences since I barely like IPAs. I'll list all the ones I've been to in my personal ranking from best to last!

Lord Hobo

Widowmaker

Dorchester Brewing

Bone Up

Turtle Swamp

Lamplighter

Aeronaut

Trillium

Cambridge Brewing

Sam Adams

Night Shift

Remnant

Winter Hill

Democracy Brewing

Harpoon

Cheeky Monkey

Lord Hobo sucks ass. I'm with you on Harpoon being at the bottom though, they are trash beers. Having remnant lower than San Adams has to be trolling.

I totally dig Bone Up for what they are/aren't/trying to be, but top 5 out of 16 on that list has to be a troll take lol.

Bald_Sasquach t1_j9a9qya wrote

Whaaaat definitely not trolling lol lord hobo makes some of the only IPAs I like! Never had a remnant I've liked either

The absolute worst brewery in Boston is in the Bowling Alley in Dorchester.

I am not exaggerating. IT may be the worst beer anywhere.

In Boston bowl? Lmao that's definitely not what I meant by DBC

RogueInteger OP t1_j9ag00p wrote

I know. But now you know. Go try that battery acid. So flavorful 🤮

DBC has come a really long way. They had some awesome contract brews you could get and their beers were kind of "meh."

Matt put a lot of time and effort into that place and feel like they may be a good business model for aspiring breweries. Get the space to brew for others, get a few for yourselves, and scale into your own brewery as you can.

I like democracy so maybe we have different tastes, but Distraction in rozzie is top tier
