I'm still holding out hope for the potential Revs stadium near Encore (yeah, I know I'm a masochist). I think it could be a great place to host both men's & women's soccer. Also, the pro Rugby team the Freejacks!

Did the rumor that the Krafts were involved with the group that bought the closed Exxon plant end up being true? If it is that would be a really good sign.

I don't think I've heard anything about that.
Last I remember there was something being rushed through the state legislature to allow a stadium to be easily built on that land. It failed at the last vote before being signed off by the Governor a few months ago.
I wouldn't be surprised though if we hear more about this location next year.

I thought it was the wonderland dog track. Where is the Exxon plant located?

That was the big one they missed. The Suffolk Downs location would’ve been perfect. And looks like it’s the Exelon plant, not Exxon. Across the street from Encore. The plant is closing and a developer bought all that land. I read a rumor a while ago that the Krafts were involved with the purchasing group. But wasn’t sure if it turned out to be true.

it hasn't been announced yet if so. It is rumored due to the state house trying to pass that bill to skirt environmental law in that area for the stadium.

That would be cool in theory. I love soccer and would go to the games. But living close by and experiencing the traffic around there makes me very scared lol

Yeah I’ve driven by there a couple of times and I can see it being a nightmare sometimes.
Hopefully infrastructure improvements (and that pedestrian bridge) would come with the construction of a stadium.

Leave Freejacks in Quincy!

Lol, how’s the attendance been? I’ve been wanting to go! I don’t know much about rugby though.

It was pretty good for their first season. I expect big things for this up coming one. I have friends who played rugby growing up, so it’s cool to see it again.

When you say near Encore are you talking about revere where the dog track use to be across from wonderland. Rumor was the crafts brought that land over a decade ago to put a soccer stadium there

It’s the power station that’s across the street from Encore. It’s slated to be decommissioned in 2024. Over the past year it’s been reported that the Krafts have been looking at the site for the Revs stadium.
Encore is also developing the lot next to the plant for event space and other stuff.
Last I checked on the dog track I read that a high school might be built there.

They never bought. The owner just hoped they would. It has languished as the overflow lot for Enterprise cars for at least a decade.
