Most sculptors agonize over how their work looks from all angles. There are usually months of iterating through versions of different sizes to check what every possible perspective conveys.

I genuinely don't understand how this studio could have missed that this angle would become a meme and a source of mockery.

I mean, even this worst angle doesn't look terribly phallic in person. It's really something that comes across a lot more in the photos.

That's arguably the point. Creates interest through controversy. I'd be amazed if they didn't incorporate it and of course deny that.
