The manager at the gym is correct not giving you member addresses or camera footage. All of their members you included have a right to privacy. Go to the police and they may stress may be able to help

Since it's a Planet Fitness why didn't the gym manager sound the Lunk Alarm and frisk everyone to see who had the earphones?!?

Investigating a suspect is a breach of privacy? I’m not familiar with the law but I wouldn’t want to against it. And, thanks for the tip! I’ll follow up with the police again

According to OP, they would have shown him the footage before he filed a police report.

Or that’s just what the gym manager told them to get OP off their back

Yeah but I have filed a police complaint too. Very unlikely I could be lying. And honestly, if the manager was interested in knowing who has stolen my airpods, she would have probably gone thru the database. They have camera footage too, what good is it when you don’t even use it

Anyone can file a police report about anything. It is literally just a paper form.

Oh I'm sure they'll get right on it.

"Hold on, Whitey Bulger. We have a missing pair of airpods to,focus on. We'll get back to you."

You and the gym shouldn't be investigating anyone. You're not a detective. It sucks but move on and be careful with the next pair.
