Because manufacturing and fertilizer costs are primarily determined by energy costs. That said, obviously, inflation has multiple causes, energy is just one large component

Higher oil prices contribute to inflation directly and by increasing the cost of inputs.

There’s not really anything interesting or new represented in this graph.

Energy is used in all aspects of our life. Manufacturing, Transportation, Food, Utilities, All influence on what we pay for items.

Edit: Be more energy independent, have more nuke plants etc. Fyi, nuke does nothing for transportation and food.

That graph doesn't really support the "Inflation is about Energy" title, however it is true that energy prices have been a major driver of inflation.
