Because the sperm is fertilizing the egg. The egg is the one that begins cell division after the sperm delivers its dna payload.

Because it is an egg that has been fertilized with a sperm.
it is just the expression: sperm fertilizes the egg.
You might be confusing it with "planted seed". With plant seeds, the expression is different.

Probably because the egg is like, a couple thousand times bigger than the sperm, and has more of the machinery already in it to make a cell. They are both zygotes, but the sperm really only contributes DNA.
Sperm has more to it than just DNA, like chemical receptors and a swimming tail", but the sperm goes into the egg and combines their DNA, the egg doesn't go in the sperm.
