In Australia; not sure about other countries, all year round sure you can take any old furniture or waste to the dump pay small fee yadadada but once a year, we have kerbside where a garbage disposal cleanup happens for free on a certain date 🙂 Keeps the streets clean.

In California you get 2 free pick ups a year but you have to call and wait on hold

Yes and you also get a homeless problem, drug problem, water problem, tax problem and cost of living problem.
