Back in college circa 1996 I brought a mini-fridge, and my roommate brought a TV and a SEGA Genesis, but the only games we had were Tiny Toon Adventures, Primal Rage (that dinosaur fighting game), and Mutant League Football. We played all of them to death, even Tiny Toon Adventures, but Mutant League Football definitely got played the most.
It was just two of us in a triple room (third guy left the first day), so we had a bigger room than everyone else on the floor and it kind of became everyone's clubhouse. We'd have MLF tournaments with the whole dorm.

Blitz was fantastic, Tecmo Super Bowl is one of the greatest sports games of all time, and Mutant League Football was good, but I preferred Mutant League Hockey.

I've got sooo many hours into Mutant League Football. It might be my most played game of all time.

Tecmo Super Bowl is the absolute goat of football games.
I know in terms of competition, there wasn't much back then, but this game was incredible. It kept stats, players could get injured, it gave multiple modes to play, and gave us the Bo Jackson runs the clock out glitch.
I remember playing this as a kid and thinking how amazing it was that a game actually kept stats ( I didn't know Zelda existed yet).
Legit one of the favorite games growing up.

The franchise team for the added with McNabb was amazing. I wore out a keyboard playing out a team for like 10 seasons. Brees to Wayne was a killer connection

That game was amazing, and only $20. Still have my copy.

There are multiple iterations of NCAA that are much better than 12. 13&14 are probably the peak and 05-09 were also pretty good (basing this off memory so forgive me).

NCAA 11. Still playing the dynasty mode once in a while.

I feel like some of the fine tuning aspects about being able to sub specific players in on individual defensive and offensive formations was removed in the 14 version along with a couple presnap options that I abused the heck out of. But gameplay wise I did prefer 14

NCAA Football 12? Nah get out of here. '16 '06 is where it was at. Might have had the best licensed soundtrack of any game in history.

16? The last release in the series was NCAA Football 14.

HA, I whipped out my sega genesis for my friend's daughter that was here the other day to keep her busy and she immediately grabbed Mutant League Hockey over sonic or all my disney games. So much nostalgia lol.

2k5 for life. There's a community still updating rosters and have unlocked new animations by tweaking the skill limits beyond 100. My beloved Mike Alstott plays defense because he's the GOAT of that game....HIGHEST BREAK TACKLE = alpha-est male!!

This just makes me feel really sad. Madden 04 was my first introduction into NFL and I loved it. Franchise mode and then Madden 05 with the hit stick was just dope too.
NFL street was also just an amazing game to play when your in the mood for an arcade/chill/MP session.
Now you just have literally trash NFL games. Franchise mode hasn't come along in nearly 20 years, it's still the same! The focus on UT and microtransactions has killed it. I would honestly buy an NFL street game tomorrow if they remastered it.
