RDR 2 still shits on Cyberpunk

Red Dead doesn't have it's own Netflix series. The Witcher and Cyberpunk.

Entirely different games so no I would not consider the comparison

Rdr2 had an amazing story and world, but I never considered it high on the "fun factor". It was too slow paced. I would Cyberpunk ahead for for fun.

That's interesting. I loved RDR2 and thought Cyberpunk was hella boring. There's a lot of talking in RDR2 but at least they usually give you something to look at while they're talking. Cyberpunk has hours of expository dialog and it's pretty much all just standing there in some dark room.

Presentation was definitely better in rdr2, but I am meaning the pacing and actual gameplay. In cyberpunk we would get a few minutes of cut scene at the beginning and end of a quest line with radio chat in between during the 1 minutes drive between different quest locations. In red dead we are lucky to actually spend 5 minutes every half hour dealing with enemies.

RDR isn't your typical game. I'd say it's more of an interactive experience. Most people enjoyed it, I didn't. I don't like westerns and (for me) this whole game was just a film that required me to travel on a horse to see another scene and very rarely shoot somebody.

Although Cyberpunk has an excellent story and has better gameplay that really scratches that chaotic itch, RDR excels almost everywhere else. Music, story, characters, scope, atmosphere, Red Dead is just top tier.

Everyone should give Cyberpunk a chance, though. Just recently finished and it’s one of the best open world games I’ve ever played

Fair and true. It is more than that, but this is the best assessment.

Red dead is still better in most aspects including fun. I loved every second of that game.

Red dead is better in most aspects for sure, but I honestly don't know about fun. I've replayed cyberpunk 4 times, while red dead only once. Sci fi demon appearing from stealth, cutting someone to ribbons and then making their friend off themself just keeps making me come back, while cowboy in huge beautiful environment is definitely a more stunning worl of art, but it hasn't made me play as obsessively as cyberpunk has.

Fun is definitely subjective but there are some fun aspects I liked a lot about red dead, like the mini games and exploration. My only problem with the game is how long the distance were between each mission.

So you based your fun off the inro's and enjoyed neither.

I refuse to believe you enjoyed the snow area in RDR2

I was impressed that the snow left a trail after moving your character.

Cyberpunk is more fun but RDR2 is more immersive and has a better story

I did enjoy Witcher a great deal (all 3 of it) and really prefer RPG, however i get headache with FPS games. I want to try out cyberpunk but only the camera angle is holding my from installing it. Shall I try it anyway? Any person with similar issue have felt anything?

dilutedmarbles OP t1_iucce7v wrote

Cyberpunk is first person. I have a friend that complains about the same symptoms. I would consider skipping it, if you have issues with fps camera controls.

Edit: or better yet see a Doctor. There might be something more going on. Best to make sure and see a Doctor.

These two games are not really competitors, they are so different, and equally good

For example, I will never play RDR2, because the cow boy look is really boring me

Just a matter of taste

RDR2 still better for me

Better world building, more fun map to explore, better characters, etc. Nothing beats RDR2, just picking a direction and meeting some random NPCs that give you side quests

The only issue is that you have to be okay with deliberate tedium (ala Kingdom Come Deliverance)

Gun slinging grounded wild west drama adventure VS bright lights rocket launchers and cyborg hacker ninjas. That's a tricky comparison

Pretty much my only critique of RDR2, aside from the extremely slow beginning, is that their quests were often very segmented, step by step, do this now do this now do this. They were pretty epic, but just so controlled in that way. It really sucked some of the fun out of it, like you were just flipping switches.

Cyberpunk is more fun imo. Took 80 hours on my first playthrough. I’m on my second playthrough now, 30 hours in. RDR2, it was a good experience, didn’t even finish it lol stopped when Arthur died. Maybe I’ll go back and play it again, 4 years later haha might have a better experience on ps5 this time (played in ps4). Might just be the rpg aspect though, the whole leveling up and upgrading your character is something I enjoy in video games.
