It’s really because their console doesn’t have the power of others so they can only do so much with their games. Maybe that’s why you have that impression. Honestly I have a switch only for the Mario or Zelda games that come here and there and third party titles are best played elsewhere. That’s me, I don’t take it with me as a portable.

If developers have it in the game it’s not cheating. Like in fighting games you can often cheese wins by doing the same move over and over and honestly it’s legit because it’s just playing the game. Might be considered lame but it ain’t cheating. Likewise you can sometimes skip parts of levels in platformers which again isn’t cheating. Something like using an external program to give infinite lives or infinite health would be.

It was always a thing in competition even at arcades with street fighter and mortal Kombat. It seems to have gotten worse with online gaming due to the anonymous nature of the internet. You don’t have to look the other person in the eye and I didn’t often see many kids playing arcade games back in the day. I’ve noticed a lot of kids have a playground mentality sometimes and will just trash talk and some will just say and do whatever they want because they know you can do nothing about it.

This is just what I have noticed and it can vary wildly from game to game.
