Well you just taught me something new. I had no clue the PS5 controller works on PS3. Had to test it myself just to be sure.

You just helped me save a hefty sum for a replacement PS3 controller, thanks a lot!

Wait till you try playing a PS2 game, on a steam deck, using a Nintendo switch pro controller

There HAS to be a way to add a PS1 layer to this. Maybe…OP, were you born when the first one came out?

You've got me thinking about memory cards now lol. Man things were so different back then.

Maybe I'm sort of exaggerating some, but back then when the PS1/PS2 generations were out, with gaming, multiplayer gaming, and especially the Internet as a whole, it felt like you were sort of exploring a brand new frontier. I honestly never really thought about it this way, but it makes me feel really lucky to have been able to witness their growth.

that's unless your ps3 needs to go into recovery mode. It REQUIRES an original controller to press the PS button. Also, not every game can be played with non original controllers, even PS4 ones are not supported. There's a list of games that support other controllers

I never knew you could use PS5 controller for a PS3. Are there any drawbacks?

I'm going to play GBA games on a GameCube with a PS5 controller as soon as the controller port mod ships in December. The irony is it is cheaper than buying up a bunch of Wavebirds for wireless gaming to just mod the system. Installation is supposed to be super easy, you open the shell with a gamebit screwdriver and simply unplug the controller port piece, then replace it with the new one and reroute the power cable. Plus you have access to a ton of controller calibration that isn't available to the native controllers.

I used to play RotK a lot when i was younger. I know the general map layouts of those maps and this is not it. That only leads two towers.

Found this, i mean that's pretty similair. It's the opening in two towers, has to be

Yeah for some reason I thought it was the part of Pelennor Fields where you're on the cliff shooting at stuff but pulling up a clip on youtube it's 100% not that.

Intro to two towers looks pretty convincing. That's got to be it.

Maybe OP is just a savage who doesn't keep the discs in the correct cases.

No rumble, and you can't use the home button. It also has limited compatibility, some games just refuse to work with it. You can get a 3rd party dongle that completely spoofs a Dualsense as a Dualshock 3, and that works pretty phenomenally. I got one on Amazon for $40, which is expensive but worth it to me. I've been playing like OP, and it's really hands down the best way to play PS2 games imo.
