Hi all! This pixel art animation is 320x200px using 9 colors and 10 hand drawn frames. I doubled the resolution for viewing purposes. These little splashing pixels are hand drawn one by one 😓 I wish you all a pleasant day <3

It's the same color used for the trees, you can see it flowing into the rocks on the right side :D and some parts use a checker pattern with two similar colors to make it appear as one darker color. Used in the rocks and the far background trees.

That damn desert in KQ 5.

After 2 days messing with it, rode my bike up to B Dalton's and looked up the sequence in the Strategy Guide. I was too poor as a kid to buy the book so I just wrote it down and rode home as fast as I could.

If you had made it a grey day then you could have used only three bits per pixel.

I have spent much time there. Yes, it does remind of C falls.

Whenever I think of those falls, I always wanna ask someone where the Nualna store is, and do they keep the laid back version in stock.

I keep seeing these pixel art posts. I love this type of art. How would one learn more about the basics? Just curious if it is something that I could fable in for like a healthy hobby. Great work and thanks for posting btw!

It is impressive to get this amount of detail with only 9 different colors total for shading and highlights and everything. Any other medium it is impossible to strictly limit yourself to a specific set number of distinct shades, since for instance even using the exact same paint if you used slightly different pressure and strokes it would result in slightly different shades.

Oh man, good memories. My parents and I used to sit and play the Sierra games together. All the King’s Quest, Space Quest, Police Quest. They never let me watch while they played Leisure Suit Larry though. I was wild to play it though.

Your attention to detail has not gone unnoticed :)

Something tells me that the ability to create art like this may be more sought-after long-term than say, someone skilled at flipping burgers. But people often get paid for that "basic" ability. Are you literally an alien? And don't understand how commerce works?
