This is true, but different drivers have different strengths.
Generally speaking, dynamic drivers are better at producing rich low frequencies and typically BA drivers are better at obtaining a lot of detail but within a much smaller frequency range than dynamic drivers are capable of, which is why we often see earphones with multiple BA drivers.
That isn't to say that a BA driver can't have decent bass, this is not true, nor is it that dynamic drivers can't produce good high frequencies, just that each driver type has different strengths and weaknesses so to say that the driver type doesn't impact the sound or type of sound you're getting is true, but not entirely so.

Too neutral? Just looked at the graphs for this IEM, it's just upper mids and nothing else

Nothing really stands out for me compared to my EDS where the vocals are more forward. But overall, it's good. I think balanced is the word I was looking for π

In terms of tonality, I would recommend going to any graph comparison tool, like this one, and adjusting the frequencies to the target, or to your preference, using the Equalizer tool. You can then use any EQ program or app like equalizerAPO or Poweramp for android, and have the IEM sound to your preference. KZ's are notorious for their V-shaped "house sound", so from my experience, I'd definitely recommend eq'ing them.

Because the Eds is already a mentally tuned iem

This IEM is sensitive to output impedance, so it may graph differently depending on the source: https://pw.squig.link/?share=Bad_Guy_Target,KZ_AS16_Pro,KZ_AS16_Pro_TK2
I have one though. It's more of a warmer and darker version of Aria's tuning to my ears (I've also measured it).

BA drivers are not the problem here.

KZ AS10 are much better

Driver type doesn't really matter (in this context) but these should EQ really well. I have the CCA C16 which are closely related and they take EQ incredibly well. Give it a try if you haven't.

That neutral tonality is actually a Harman compliant tuning more or less. It's a well researched industry standard. KZ is starting to mature in that regard.
Regarding Harman, though, it's best thought of as a starting point from which one can personalize to their own preferences. The linked article above provides an excellent overview of it... π±π§πΆπΆππ

drivers type doesn't do anything for how a IEM would sound
