Hi Reddit,

I bought and received two headphones, the Sennheiser PC38X, and the Beyerdynamic Tygr 300R over the weekend, and after swapping between them a couple times, the Tygr's seem to be much better for music, while the PC38X sound muddy. However, in gaming, the PC38X's imaging blows the Tygr's out of the water. I really want to like the Tygr's, due to the build quality, comfort, and tuning, but the imaging is killing it for me, is there a way to improve the imaging of these headphones near the level of the PC38x?

You may be finding the PC38X muddy due to its recessed treble. Try some eq on the higher frequencies to bring back a bit of sparkle

Just got the pC38x as well and tried to install APO on my PC but but it doesn’t want to actually install anything even after troubleshooting. Would love to eventually EQ these things though

That's odd. I find the TYGR to be extremely accurate in terms of imaging. Now I haven't tried the PC38X but considering that I can usually tell the exact position, distance and movement direction of other players or NPCs with the TYGR I'd really like to know how that can be "blown out of the water". Either way I don't think you can really change imaging performance of a headphone in any meaningful way.

If you haven't tried headphone PC38X, how do you know PC38X is not better (or worse) than TYGR 300R in directional imaging for gaming. Just because TYGR is sufficient, doesn't mean there is no other that is better.

Never said I knew it's better. If you read the rest of my comment you'd know I asked HOW exactly the 38x is better.
