For me, it reopens the private tab even if I close Safari.

That's exactly what I'm saying. When you close the browser, safari will reopen private tabs from before, when you open it again. So if you are doing "research" it'll reopen those research private tabs.

Oh. Sorry, I misread. Thought you were saying it automatically closes it. I'm thinking it's by design.

On a non-apple phone, if you click onto a search address bar a dedicated .com button pops right up next to the space bar. The more phone companies copy eachother, the better it is for all consumers.
