I’ve been using iOS since 2008. It does everything I need. I have never had a reason or any curiosity at all to look at a different OS.

Ties to iOS ecosystem (watch/airpods/magsafe stuff), build quality, longevity, support, better privacy (since Apple makes money from you, and not from ads), better software quality (due to stricter AppStore guidelines). iMessage, FaceTime, AirDrop. Also habits.

Its not an android phone

iOS

A couple of reasons:

• Very long support
• Better apps quality ( not all but a lot)
• Certain Apps only on iOS
• I have a lot of purchased apps and content on iOS
• A lot of accesorios for iPhone , screen protector and cases of all kinds and very good prices and promotions
• I like how iOS looks and feels
• Apple Watch

I only buy iPhones and have never had an Android. You could argue it’s habit / inertia, but nothing has every made me feel swayed towards an Android.

Long term support, won’t slow down significantly over the course of 2 years, better resale value when I trade up, not having my data mined for profit etc etc. I used android for like 10 years including the pixel line and nothing was quite as seamless as iOS. I just don’t care about the extra feature’s android offers for the most part. It’s just a phone that can also do Reddit:)

I used android from its inception until pixel 3. I hated the changes to the OS that Samsung and others did so I mostly only owned a Nexus or Pixel device.

My nexus devices ($500ish) were all generally fine. The three pixel (1, 2 and 3) devices ($1000ish), all paid in cash, all had severe hardware issues within two years.

Additionally, I tried 4 different android watches and they all performed like trash. They didn’t sync details like steps and the experience was clumsy and slow.

So I moved to Apple. Watch is far better and if I’m buying $1000+ phones they better last as long as I choose to own them. Plus Apple has either fixed or improved the reasons I liked android more such as global software defaults.

So why won’t I buy an equivalent android? I have and when you consider the full package, they are not as good of a product an iPhone. Everything has minor things you may not prefer, but all summed up, Apple is a better full package.

Family and home is fully immersed in the Apple ecosystem and has been for 15+ years. Zero reason to change that.

Need my phone for 2 factor authentication on various poker sites and wallets, i can just Face ID in without entering multiple passwords and phrases

Definitely iOS.

Background: I came from 10 years of Samsung S flagships, and though I now own a AW and iPhone, but I am still fiercely Windows-OS and Android-TV only.

Security updates, longer software support, better app support. Also resale value, as someone who values having a new phone every two years I can do that easier when it depreciated half as much as a flagship android phone. Lastly a side affect of all of the above is the eco system. Love HomeKit, iCloud, AppleTV (streaming box). It’s the only thing I found I can leave with people who are not “tech savvy” and they can figure it out on their own without calling me… though apple GUIs have gotten less intuitive over the years for those people.

Too busy to spend time on choosing.

iOS, Apple Watch and the majority of family and friends use it. Too invested in ecosystem. Going to be a long hauler, no interest in android. Tried it once it wasn’t for me.

Simple. Just works. I am over the customize everything days. Support and longevity. Been using apple since 2010 will not go back to other os. Plus we got everything around the house in their ecosystem.

For many people it’s the ecosystem and reliability apple offers for many people android just isn’t an option and iPhone 14 is seen as the default choice. You also don’t get the same level of CPU performance and long term support that apple offers.

I happily use both, so no need to choose.

Even though I am stuck with an IPhone 7 it would just come down to me liking how the IOS operates.

Its not the hardware, its the way the software behaves flawlessly and simply. It just works.

It's a silly question. 99% of the people in here have used iphones for many years and are deep in the ecosystem and/or simply comfortable where they're at. If you're happy with something, why change it?

I had android like 10+ years ago, one of my galaxy just got stuck in a boot loop one morning and was never usable, and overall the device gets slow after a year of use, cannot say for the newer androids but overall my iphones can last 5+ years and the speed is the same as the day I got it.

I switched from a Note 10+ to an Iphone 14 pro. I like Android but I felt that new flagship Android phones were getting overpriced while not offering distinct changes from versions to versions (I do not care about foldable things). So I though “If I am going to pay for overpriced stuff lets do it right” so I switched to iPhone. I am so happy with it.

Battery life and sustained performance but other than that i can't find a single reason to buy iPhone 14 and 14 Plus at $799 and $899 over an android phone that have high refresh rate, qhd+ resolution display, extra telephoto sensor and macro photography!

Had an iPhone since launch, apart from a 3 week period about 8 years ago when I tried android. Didn’t last a month, was so horrible to use after iOS.

Because iOS devices gets updates for years when compared to Amy android Device

iMessage, Airdrop, FaceTime, software support is usually considerably longer than Android.

Will last longer, hold value better, receive all updates for many years, always a pure iOS experience, great compatibility with all three US carriers + most global ones. Dual eSIMs work well together running at the same time.

If the battery goes bad, Apple will replace it officially for $69. No need to visit a third party repair shop.

Edited to add: I have a Pixel 6a and I like Android, but it’s not a daily driver OS for me. Also had LG Optimus, GS3, Nexus. The Pixel is very smooth and has some neat features.

i no longer wanted to hunt down phantom battery drain. while tasker is very powerful, shortcut can do 99% of the stuff i needed, so that solved most of my problem. and rest of the family is using iphone so helping them with random ios and icloud problem is easier.

Resale value of iphone. Battery optimisation is better than android.

I’ve tried the pixel 7 pro and it felt cheap with camera bug that force closes after update. Returned it for the s22 plus but the battery was terrible and returned it for the 14 plus.

Does all I need a phone to do. And I haven’t seen a small enough android phone that I like

iMessage, long-term support, better overall quality. When I text someone and get a green bubble back I cringe because I know that communication with them is going to be difficult. Ever tried to do a group text and there’s that one person with Android that ruins it?

Some people just hate iPhones. My brother absolutely refuses to get an iPhone and insists on using shitty Motorolas, so I have to use Signal to message him-and even then video quality is highly degraded. When you ask these Android enthusiasts why they love that OS so much they’ll usually mumble something about “muh customization”. I still don’t get it.
