I found a lovingly hand-knit hat on the PATH tonight that I'd love to reunite with it's owner. DM me it's color and I'll get it back to you.

The chances that the person who dropped it will also be on this subreddit are slim. But good luck to both of you
I'm well aware, but figured it might be the best shot at reuniting them.
Port Authority has a lost and found station at journal Square - with the PATH police command. Maybe you can drop it off there
Yes, the highest chances of getting it back to its owner are from the owner contacting Port Authority and asking if they found a hat.
Not sure if you’re being sarcastic, but I once lost a bag with a lot of valuables that I later recovered through the LIRR lost and found
I'm not being sarcastic. I'm saying the owner would be far more likely to recover their hat if PA lost and found had it, than if someone advertised it on reddit.
Years ago I lost a hat on the PATH and went to the Lost and Found in Journal Square. I didn't find my hat but I was very surprised about the amount of things they had there. The Lost and Found is a great suggestion of where to look.
Your hat is now unseen
Just like the Yeti
Hmm. Maybe not as slim as you think? This subreddit now has almost 60K subscriber. The JC population is ~280K, and some of that is definitely very young kids and such, or other demographic not taking the PATH. I would say close to 25% to 33% of the JC commuting demographic is in this sub, so maybe not so crazy to think posting here could help reunite the hat with its rightful owner.
Becareful, it’s a mark for human trafficking. The hat is used to identify potential victims.
That's not a thing.
